Al Stewart

At the end of 1981, Al Stewart, with Shot In The Dark, played a series of shows at the Roxy theater on Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles. Same tour as the 'official' Indian Summer album. Good selection of songs, pretty good sound.

An orchestra was employed to give a fuller sound. When the live Indian Summer album was released, not a note of the orchestra - and little from the band - could be heard; replaced by studio overdubs and rerecordings.

Three tracks later recorded as 'studio tracks' (Here In Angola, Pandora, Delia's Gone) were actually performed live at these shows.

Overall Quality (entirely subjective!)Five Star
Originality / UniquityFive Star
Sound Quality Four Stars

This is impossible to find 'new' - I buy all my rarities from ebay, but I recommend observing before bidding - prices vary considerably.

Most tracks available on studio and compilation CDs.

All of these tracks were originally released on the Indian Summer album, with five studio tracks:

Here In Angola; Indian Summer; Pandora; Delia's Gone; Princess Olivia.

These studio tracks were subsequently added to 24 PCarrots, when that album was released on compact disc.

Indian Summer has never been released as a digital album, so Live at the L.A. Roxy is the 'Live' part of Indian Summer.
