Audio CD (May 25, 2004) Label: Rhino Records Another Greatest
Hits albumA nice selection, which, sadly tells us more about Al Stewart's
state of mind than we needed to know. Time was was every concert included darker
moments, as those who dared to suggest "Year of the Cat" in particular,
and 'old stuff' in general, got roundly abused. More recently, this has
given way to a more good-humoured approach, and the welcome return of some great
songs (especially those from "Zero", but that's just me). Now,
not only a 'predictable' selection, but only one track newer than 1981 (And that's
1988!). This choice is pure nostalgia, and says to those who want only YotC "I
give in". Even the cover reminds me of a particular song. Can't quite
place it ... |
