Thirteen original tracks are drawn from the 1978 vinyl release; the others were added for the CD release in 1984. As with most post-Karen releases, the majority of these feature Richard Carpenter's instrumental arrangements, a few with him as lead vocal.

While these are quite pleasant, and certainly Christmassy, they do dilute "The Carpenters", which, by 1978, meant Karen Carpenter on lead vocal -it took several years for Richard to finally accept that his voice really was not his greatest asset; it's shame that it took so few months after Karen's death before that acceptance began to slip.
