Chronicles the influential music career of Buddy Holly through a combination
of archive footage and clips from television performances. Also features the tracklist:
'That'll Be The Day', 'Peggy Sue', 'It's So Easy', 'Rave On', 'Maybe Baby' and
'It Doesn't Matter Anymore'. The DVD starts with a 100-minute documentary,
with some interesting interviews. all appear to be fresh for this release, which
is good in one way - but, of course many of the key folk are no longer with us,
so some archive interviews would have been good. The DVD also features a
'jukebox', with these 14 tracks played against a photomontage of Buddy Holly's
life and career. The Easter Egg is 'Peggy Sue Got Married' Finally, there
are additional interviews with Peggy Sue Gerron, Jerry Allison, Carl Bunch, Sonny
Curtis, George Tomsco, Joe B Mauldin and Ray Rush. A sad lapse is the omission
of one of the Picks. This is a fine DVD, one to view again in a few years
time! The DVD is rather sweeetly disguised as a Brunswick labelled audio
disc, while the CD comes as its Coral sister. |
